On this episode we’re testing out some vintage devices to see simply how intelligent they’re. Together with a kan wondamixer that I discovered on on ebay, it’s a handbook stand mixer that was invented in Australia. And a wrought iron apple peeler that wanted some restoration earlier than I may check it out. And a rotary egg beater.
I used to be intrigued by the big variety of patent purposes for rotary egg beaters. Surprisingly the individual credited with inventing the rotary egg beater, Turner Williams, solely filed one patent with slight modifications to another person’s design. Williams beater was purchased by Dover Firm and mass produced. Timothy Earle, who isn’t talked about, made nice contributions to the event of the rotary egg beater. Check out the timeline of patents beneath. Earle additionally filed patents for a number of different objects together with jars with closures for preserving and an oil can. I do hope that he was duly rewarded for his innovations.
